Our Heart Warrior of the Week is a strong and inspirational adult CHDer by the name of Bianca Lucci. She shared with us the many obstacles she has faced and overcome and we are honored to now be sharing it with you. This is her story, in her own words.
Save the Heartbeat is a non-profit organization that benefits those that are affected by congenital heart disease (CHD). Danielle and Jonathan Maloof started this charity after their son, Remington, was born with an undiagnosed congenital heart defect in 2013. The custom-designed Heartbeat jewelry line that you see in our shop was inspired by Remington and all the other 1 in 100 who are born with CHD. This line can be purchased online or at Micky's Jewelry Studio in La Verne, CA. All proceeds from donations and sales goes toward our mission of advocating early detection, increasing awareness funding research & early detection programs, and community outreach for those that are affected by CHD.
Save the Heartbeat is a registered 501(c)(3) charity. Our tax ID number for donations and purchases is: 81-2470378.
We talked with Andrew Kay, a 52-year-old adult CHD survivor who lives with ventricular septal defect and damage from endocarditis that began when he was 50. His story includes multiple catheterization procedures and an open-heart surgery just this past June.
